About us...

The Tyne Theatre Stage School has been providing first class performing arts training in Dance, Acting and Singing in the North East region since 1989, for children aged 3-18. Since opening, our classes have been located in the centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne, providing the best studio and performance facilities. We encourage pupils to experience the joy of engaging with a live audience, and stage at least one major production per year, alongside numerous opportunities for pupils to perform at charity events and in amateur/professional productions.

We offer dance lessons in Ballet, Tap, Theatre Craft, Modern Jazz, Cheerleading and Freestyle Disco and Musical Theatre alongside Acting and Singing classes. Examinations are offered in all subjects with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA),  London Academy of Music and Drama Art (LAMDA), and Trinity Guildhall. We have consistently achieved a 100% pass rate in all examinations over the past 25 years with the majority of pupils receiving distinctions (over 85%).

We also offer our Scholar Program (TTSP) for pupils wishing to progress into the Performing Arts as a career. This class teaches a combination of technique and conditioning for pupils wishing to work at the highest possible level. TTSP classes are by audition only.

Our Pupils...
Many of our pupils have continued their vocational studies at specialist full-time performing arts colleges. We have seen pupils continue their studies at London Studio Centre, The Urdang Academy, Laine Theatre Arts, Arts Educational School, Bird College, Mountview, LAMDA, Guilford School of Acting, Central School of Speech and Drama and more.

TTSS Agency has now been active since 2008, giving students the opportunity to audition for roles in both professional TV and theatre. Major recent successes include Tracy Beaker Returns / The Dumping Ground (CBBC), Oliver! (1st National Tour), Billy Elliot (West End), Priscilla Queen of the Desert (National Tour) and numerous national TV Adverts including Hovis and Aldi. TTSS Agency is open to all pupils currently attending classes.

There are three, twelve week terms per year which normally consist of six weeks coaching, a half term break, then the remaining six weeks.

Fees for each twelve week term are payable before the term commences.
