About us...
The Tyne Theatre Stage School has been providing first class performing arts training in Dance, Acting and Singing in the North East region for over twenty years for children aged 3-18. Since opening, our classes have been located in the centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne, providing the best studio and performance facilities. We encourage pupils to experience the joy of engaging with a live audience, and provide vast opportunities for all pupils to perform.
We offer dance lessons in Ballet, Tap, Theatre Craft, Modern Jazz, Cheerleading and Freestyle Disco. All dance subjects are taught to the standards of the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA), along with our Musical Theatre programme. Our acting curriculum follows the syllabus of the London Academy of Music and Drama Art (LAMDA), and singing lessons are taught to Trinity Guildhall Singing standards.
Our Pupils...
Many of our pupils have continued their vocational studies at specialist full-time performing arts colleges. We have seen pupils continue their studies at London Studio Centre, The Urdang Academy, Laine Theatre Arts, Millenium Dance 2000, Bird College, Phil Winstons Theatreworks, Birmingham School of Acting and more.
Achievements...
We have a 100% pass rate for all IDTA and LAMDA examinations taken over the past twenty years.
Fees...
There are three, twelve week terms per year which normally consist of six weeks coaching, a half term break, then the remaining six weeks.
Fees for each twelve week term are payable at the beginning of each term.
Who can join?...
Stage school is open to all young people with an interest in performing. Students are generally within the age range 3 to 18 years. Routine teaching takes place outside normal school or college hours, and is generally grouped according to a combination of age and ability.
