So who (and what) is the Tyne Theatre Stage School?

Tyne Theatre Stage School aims to provide the very best learning opportunities for young people interested in performing. We are an independent organisation based in the centre of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the northeast of England. We enable students to experience the joy of engaging with a live audience, while working part-time towards a national qualification in dance, drama or singing.

TTSS offer lessons in Dance-Ballet, Tap, Theatre Craft, Modern, Freestyle Disco and Musical Theatre. All Dance lessons are taught to the I.D.T.A. International Dance Teachers Association curriculum. Drama is L.A.M.D.A. which is the London Academy of Music and Drama Art, and Singing is Trinity.

There are three, twelve week terms per year which normally consist of six weeks coaching, a half term break, then the remaining six weeks.

Fees for each twelve week term are payable at the beginning of each term.

Who can be a student of the Tyne Theatre Stage School?

Stage school is open to all young people with an interest in performing. Students are generally within the age range 4 to 18 years. Routine teaching takes place outside normal school or college hours, and is generally grouped according to a combination of age and ability.

How is coaching facilitated?

All senior staff are trained educators with a track record of continuing professional involvement in the performing arts.
